Rotary members of Los Altos Rotary Club visit

Last Thursday we had the pleasant visit of the Rotary members of Los Altos Rotary Club. During their stay, some visits were made to the execution sites of some projects.

On Friday April 5^th, members of the Rotary Club of Los Altos visited the Improved Cookstove Project at the environmental NGO, Association Tu’ik Ruch’ Lew/Helping the Earth (TRL), located in Santiago Atitlan. Hosted by RCLA member Candis Krummel, the visitors participated in the installations of ONIL stoves in the homes of two Tz’utujil Maya families.This was followed by a visit to the Rotary-built David La Motte School, where the TRL will be installing a fixed-dome biogas digester later this year.

The visit to TRL’s project was followed by a gourmet Tz’utujil luncheon at Cojol’Ya, the home of Candis, where the members also enjoyed seeing traditional Tz’utujil artisan activities and tasting Candis’ pitaya wine.
